BuckleBear

"Buckle Up with BuckleBear!" is a program sponsored by the St. Louis Auto Dealers Association to promote automobile passenger safety to young children ages 2 to 6 years old.

The program teaches young children that everyone has a seat in the car and must be buckled up! No special training is required to teach the curriculum, which includes fun, reusable materials with the cartoon character of "BuckleBear" as the focal point. The curriculum was developed by the International Center for Injury Prevention.

The Association offers the program free of charge to local elementary schools and daycare centers.

Participating schools receive:

• (1) BuckleBear Teacher Kit -one per participating school
• (1) 8-minute BuckleBear Video - one per participating school
• (1) BuckleBear Cuddly Companion stuffed bear per child
• (1) "Good Passenger" coloring book per child
• Use of the life-size BuckleBear costume
• BuckleBear standup cutout
